Philip Sidney About the poet Sir Philip Sidney (1554-86) was a courtier, a soldier, and a poet. A versatile man, Sidney was also a literary critic. Essay - Type Question Write a critical appreciation of the poem, 'Another's Sorrow?" Another's Sorrow is one the remarkable poem of William Blake. The poem is about sympathy & humanity. In this poem the poet is talking about another person's pain or grief in general. The poet asks the question, 'Can I see another's woe, And not be in sorrow too?." Here the poet means to say that, if I see someone's grief, how can I not want to do something to seek for kind relief. Then the poet repeat the question, before applying it to a father, and he asks the question, "Can a father see his child weep, nor be with sorrow fill'd?" Here, the poet feel sorrow when his child cries. A father could filled with sadness when he sees a falling tear, of his child.
